LGPL code, when linked as a library, does not infect the program with its own license.
The program may keep its own, more strict, or more liberal, license.
Just the library code itself, and all of its modifications, underly the (L)GPL rules.

Prominent example: glibc. If it would be GPL-virulent, no commercial vendor would be able to
write proprietary code unless writing an own compatible C helper library.

So SDL would be okay in simh.
