Strange, I've been running mapped RDOS on the Eclipse simulator on and
off over the past few years and it never (to my knowledge) tickled that bug.
I would love to help in any way possible with work on an MV-series
simulator. It might be worth thinking about doing the MV/10000 first as
I recall that it was often said that the MV/10000 was the 'Eagle [i.e.
MV/8000] done right'. Also, the microprogamming manual is available for
that machine.
I have been collecting what little information on the MV series is
publicly available and putting it on a little website
http://stephenmerrony.co.uk/dg/ - I'll be expanding that and moving to a
better, wiki-based setup soon.
Also, I now have a running MV/2500DC with AOS/VS installed :-)

For the few (any) users of the Eclipse, a serious bug introduced back
in 2005(!) was fixed today. DIVS was testing AC0 instead of AC2 for
the divide by zero condition and producing spurious errors. As a
result, AOS hasn't worked for a decade.
It's now running again. See the GitHub issue list #200. The fix is the
same for 4.x and 3.9.x.
Speaking of DG, I think it's getting to be time to circle back and
look at the MV8000. While higher-level documents are available, the
nitty-gritty design documents are lacking, and so is an online set of
AOS/32 manuals. So if you've been sitting on a stash of DG material,
now would be a good time to bring it into the light...
