Hi Marko,
Could you try this instead?
http://static.simile.mit.edu/exhibit/api-dev/exhibit-api.js?locale=nl
Note that the locale nl is still in api-dev, not yet released as a
version. Let me know if it works fine for you and I'll make a 2.1.1
release to include it.
By the way, extensions have their own localizations. If you use any of
the extensions, you'd need to translate their strings as well. For
example, the map extension's localizations are here:
http://static.simile.mit.edu/exhibit/extensions-dev/map/locales/
