Hi John,

Welcome to the Simile projects!

Judging from your description, sounds like the Exhibit project would be the one
for you to start with. See the docs on the wiki, and on the MIT site:
http://code.google.com/p/simile-widgets/wiki/Exhibit

Use the mailing list for additional help.
See the tips about how to do so:
http://code.google.com/p/simile-widgets/wiki/HowToAskForHelp

And do let us know (via the mailing list) about your progress and any of your
projects that we can list on the wiki.

Regards,

Larry

Subject: Timeline software

Hi. I've just joined the group (I'm a statistician/data consultant
from York, Endland)

I have been looking for some time for some software that will converts
time-spatial data into timelines and maps. (I want to keep the data in
database format, so I need something that will act in real time.)

Some of my data is genealogical - but with a spatial as well as a
temporal flavour.

I'm hoping this group will help.

Can anyone advise me please where I can find a "Dummy's introduction"
to suitable Simile and other software?

Thanks JOHN BIBBY
