Hmmm.... Thanks for your help Larry. I replaced my data set with the Monet dataset and the links still didn't work, so the issue seemed to be with my timeline. I then replaced all of the functions used to set up my timeline with the functions used in the monet timeline - and used the same exact configuration (calling the functions in the html head, rather than as a separate js file), and the only things I changed were the name of my timeline div and the xml data file. The links still didn't work in IE.
