Hi Joe, I just went through something like that. I have been using QuickDns v2. I then switched to the beta for a dns lookup fix. Everything ran fine for months.
Just last week I changed my MX records and it took my backup SIMS server 24 hours (that was my TTL value) to start forwarding to the new server. What I did as a quick fix was to use filesharing to share the accounts folder with the old SIMS server. So I had two SIMS servers using the same Accounts folder but different log and queue folders. Worked well for two days that I need it. Then two days latter while I was out of town the beta of QuickDNS 2.2.1b expired and crashed my DNS/backup Mail Server.
