RFC 821, section 4.3 is entitled 'SEQUENCING OF COMMANDS AND REPLIES.' The bit
referred to above reads:

Going by that, a SIMS server's host name should be interpreted as 'Stalker',
as in the warning message given above, since that's the first word after the
220 response code. However, there's a pretty wide range of greeting messages
being given out by a lot of different servers out there these days, and many
of them do not include the server's name. Perhaps one of the folks on the list
with encyclopedic knowledge of the RFCs (don't try to hide, we know you're
there...) can tell us mortals if there's a later RFC that supercedes 821 on
this point? If not, should SIMS be made to comply with RFC 821?
