Bill, although it's a >little off-topic, can you explain this in more detail? Forgetting >SIMS for a moment, and pretending that the extent of my DNS world is >my caching nameserver, why do I get only a question response to >spamhaus.relays.osirusoft.com, but a question and also an answer to >reverse_ip.spamhaus.relays.osirusoft.com?
My understanding is that all of the Osirusoft zones are in fact a single zone, with the sub-zones not having their own SOA's. In other words, there is no A record for 248.217.80.64 in the zone spamhaus.relays.osirusoft.com, but there is a record for 248.217.80.64.spamhaus in the zone relays.osirusoft.com. This is a VERY odd way to do things. -- Bill Cole [EMAIL PROTECTED] ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
