Probably the best way to handle this is to have an alternate folder into which the files are placed; this folder should have a folder action script which preprocesses the files to ensure that the line endings are correct. I do something similar in conjunction with AutoShare to prevent the actual SIMS account which is the target of the list from being exposed to those who would spam the list.
