Actually, it is perfectly normal for files coming from other 
platforms to be converted by whatever process transfers them. FTP for 
example will convert line endings on the fly. That's really the right 
solution: if you are dropping text files somewhere for a Mac program 
to read them, whatever process is saving those files should convert 
them.

(If it is a Unix source, piping the file through "tr '\n' '\r' " 
should do the trick)
