Here's an idea: Do you have extra memory available, for the System to "grow" into as it needs to allocate more memory for Open Transport functions? I had a box that I ran QDNS Pro on, and I had roughly 200K as the largest block in the About this Mac window. Eventually, the System would grow into that 200K, and the machine would stop accepting connects on TCP port 53, although UDP port 53, and the DNS functions were fine.
