Hello, I need to change the physical location and IP number for our SIMS box. I know that I can take over all settings etc. by just copying the SIMS folder in the system folder to the new machine.
But, when I change the record in the DNS servers, to point to the new server, it takes some time until everyone in the world notices the change. So I thought that it should be possible to just let the old server run for a while and put a corresponding entry in the router. The present router entries are: mail.rumantsch.ch = rumantsch.ch mail.* = * didactica.ch = rumantsch.ch frr.ch = rumantsch.ch giuru.ch = rumantsch.ch liarumantscha.ch = rumantsch.ch manufacta.ch = rumantsch.ch pledari.ch = rumantsch.ch romansch.ch = rumantsch.ch romansh.ch = rumantsch.ch romansh.com = rumantsch.ch romontsch.ch = rumantsch.ch scuntrada.ch = rumantsch.ch sound-systems.ch = rumantsch.ch udg.ch = rumantsch.ch u-r-s.ch = rumantsch.ch usdt.ch = rumantsch.ch Would it help just to make an additional entry at the bottom: rumantsch.ch = nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn.smtp (where nnn... represents the new IP number of the new server?
