Please see the quoted headers below. I am receiving a lot of spam coming through my ISP's mail server (which is listed in my MX records as a secondary mail server). In most cases, the spam would have been blocked by my server due to use of RBL lists, but since it comes through mx2.cais.net it does not get blocked by me.
Is this a strategy that spammers are using, deliberately routing through secondary mail servers when they can't deliver directly? Is there any way around this other than me telling CAIS to no longer provide backup mail service?
