In case I wasn't clear earlier, there is no need for a separate physical box. In my case: Non-authoritative answer: 4pi.com MX 86400 5 mx.4pi.com 4pi.com MX 86400 10 mx.secondary.com 4pi.com MX 86400 20 spam1.4pi.com 4pi.com MX 86400 30 spam2.4pi.com 4pi.com MX 86400 40 spam3.4pi.com 4pi.com MX 86400 50 spam4.4pi.com Then, make it so that mx.4pi.com and all the spamX.4pi.com have the same A records. But, as has been pointed out, spam can get through the real secondary still, and if your main box goes down, so do all your low priority "secondaries" and the spam goes right through on the real secondary as before. I have yet to analyze whether this setup has done much to help me (in fact I don't have as many fake secondaries as I imply above). As I said before, it can -theoretically- help. Spammers are such an odd mix of stupidity and dogged determination that any solution will be imperfect.
