We ran into some problems running large lists with this setup.
Not due to file size, but volume. Once the SIMS queue starts to fill up,
the mac OS itself starts to choke.

So in our case, we had several lists of 1000+ subscribers, and say three or
four were doing between 100-200 msgs/day.

In a matter of a day or two the SIMS queue would have 10,000 files in it,
and the OS would just grind to a halt.

We went with Communigate pro, and it handles about 9,000,000 mails a month
using an average of 2-4% of the cpu of a 233 g3. I couldn't be happier with
it.

I love SIMS, and use it on our secondaries. Its only weakness is the Mac
OS's relatively weak network support + filesystem.
