Macjordomo can handle up to 32,000 subscribers per list (using OS 9 
-- I'm not sure about the OS X version, but I don't believe it's any 
less). The more subscribers you have, the more RAM you need to give 
it, but even a large list doesn't take all that much by today's 
standards.

SIMS can probably handle what you're doing, too. I use the 
Macjordomo/SIMS combination for about 50,000-60,000 messages daily, 
although average message size is only around 3K -- a little smaller 
than what you're talking about. But I don't think I'm even close to 
choking this combination, and I suspect you're not, either.
