I think I may have isolated my problem. My apologies for the ranting posts earlier.
I'm sure I sounded like a raving lunatic. I think I have determined that the 8.6 Bondi machine that we were using for SIMS may have officially been hit by lightning in a storm that rolled through town here awhile back. This issue (a lightning strike) had stuck in the back of my mind, but since connectivity was still there, I guess I assumed all was good. I transferred SIMS over to the 9.2.1 box and tried to see if I could get to it via dial-up and WHAM!. It came right up. :-) SIMS is running QUICK as ever, at least twice to three times as fast as on the 8.6 box. Thanks to you all for all your feedback. Gotta move our web files over to the new box and take the 8.6 box off the network. :-) Take care.
