Hello, If I understand the problem correctly, the following should help.
In SIMS add to the router table: (If SIMS domain name is not lists.serversmiths.com): <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> = joeslist%lists.serversmiths.com@[12.34.56.78] where 12.34.56.78 is the IP address of the ListStar server. If the domain name in SIMS General Settings is lists.serversmiths.com, then the router entry will be <joeslist> = joeslist%lists.serversmiths.com@[12.34.56.78] on 04.01.2003 10:28, Mailing List Reader at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > My Liststar server is getting hit by spammers because it doesn't have any > spam protection and since it actually receives the emails they think they're > getting them through. > > It discards them as it checks for a valid server address and so they don't > get relayed. > > But ! > > It ties up the server as it checks them one by one and invariably a client > will get his posting stuck in the queue of multi-thousands of spam emails > (and then call me). > > I think my main problem is that I have existing email addresses which I do > not (and probably cannot change), like > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > I have a SIMS server that I send all my list mail out through and I know I > can route stuff through the router from it on to my Liststar machine. > > But I can't think of how to get that done without having to change my list > service addresses. > > How do I get [EMAIL PROTECTED] (SIMS) > > = > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Liststar) > > The Liststar machine has to think of itself as lists.serversmiths.com > > I run my own DNS so I can set anything up I want. > > Any help or tips are very greatly appreciated. -- Best regards, Dmitry Akindinov ======================================================================= When answering to letters sent to you by the tech.support staff, make sure the original message you have received is included into your reply. ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
