See recent patches to the Core2-duo microcode distributed through recent Windows Update patches. You will never see such patches for ARM based processors. They are simple enough that they will never have such bugs. Todays hardware and software systems are not merely burdened by legacy design decisions but actively surpress any possible evolutionary path towards a more modern system. If you want a rather heartbreaking example of this, download the source code to Minix 3 and study the file process.c. -- The decision to support the Unix paradigm on this modern microkernel OS has resulted in a tragically crippled system. eg, I just realized that although I had intended to set both my monitors to the same resolution, this one somehow ended up being 1024x768 while the other is at least 1280x1024... Possibly even 1600x1280... (which I consider damaging to my hardware..) Unix is an awful OS . Why do people keep making excuses for it? -- Opera: Sing it loud! :o( )>-< ----- This list is sponsored by AGIRI: http://www.agiri.org/email To unsubscribe or change your options, please go to: http://v2.listbox.com/member/?member_id=4007604&id_secret=22142174-1f3ae2
