Well, there are many, many other people who have worked out the details of how to use nanotechnology to accomplish a variety of exotic engineering feats .... this is not my personal idea, disconnected from the rest of the universe of thought, just a summary and rearrangement of some really quite thoroughly researched ideas.
Check out the books on Nanotechnology by Eric Drexler, or the huge literature on space elevators, or the stuff on life extension.
