As has been said here a few times (and in the FAQ), proxy and UA are
logical functions that can change on a request-by-request basis. Thus, a
piece of software can act as a proxy for one request and as a UA (not
necessarily a back-to-back UA) for the next one, depending on the
address used in the request. This could happen, for example, with a box
that acts as both an outbound proxy and a gateway for some reason. If
the box is serving example.com, a request addressed to example.com may
well terminate there, but an outbound proxy request to somewhereelse.com
from within example.com would be proxied.
