Depends on what is the statefullness of the proxy; a stateless proxy could
care less if it got a BYE or not; ditto for a  transaction-stateful proxy.
A call-stateful proxy may maintain resources until it gets a BYE, so this
is probably the case of interest to you.

Not really; depending on what is it that you want the proxy to do.  For
instance, if the proxy is executing some services on behalf of the user,
it may use RADIUS to authenticate/authorize the user (see
