Hello All,

This is about the RPR Draft(draft-ietf-sip-100rel-04.txt).
I am referring the chapter 7 (Retransmit Interval Computation).

Herein we have the text

" The retransmission interval for reliable provisional responses starts
at 500 ms, and doubles after each retransmission, up to a maximum of
16 seconds. This mirrors the behavior of INVITE requests in [1]. If
no PRACK is received for that response after 40 seconds, it is
considered a network or endpoint failure. Behavior at that point is
at the discretion of the implementor."

If we now take into consideration the RFC2543bis-05 I have two points to
make:-

1>Is the retransX interval really mirrorring behaviour of INVITE requests
as in bis05? Since according to the
to bis05 ,INVITE requests keep retransmitting with 2*T1 until the timer B
fires(64*T1).

2>Also, (how) does the value 40 change for bis05 implementors?

3>Do we follow behaviour of INVITE requests in bis-05 for our
implementation of RPR retransmission, without taking into account the
actual values 16,40.

-Regards
R.Kamath
