Just to clarify: by persistent TCP/TLS connections, I meant the UA 
establishes a connection with a Proxy/Registrar, and the REGISTER 
transaction messages are sent/received on that connection.  The UA 
leaves that connection open, and expects to receive INVITE and other 
requests on that same open connection.

This is how I read draft-ietf-sip-nat-01.  Are you saying that this is 
already in 2543-bis?  I think I'm missing something.

btw, I'm not concerned with SIP on UDP, or RTP --only SIP on TCP or TLS.
