According to bis-09 (8.1.1 Generating Request) it clearly states that the MUST headers in a
request are ( To, From, CSeq, Call-Id, Max-Forwards and Via ) it does not mention the
Contact header being part of this Mandatory list.
But i can also see that in (8.1.1.8 Contact ) it says, Contact header field MUST be present...
a contradiction...
I would think the later part to be a mistake, as even if there is no Contact sent it should be ok.. as there
is always the From: where the response can be sent back. Contact to me is more of a specification from
the client side of where he would want the subsequent responses to be sent to from the server.
