Hi All,

I'll be thankful to all of you, if anybody can give me a detail on the media
negotiation in SIP.

The detail scenario is as follows:

UAC is sending media type in SDP header 'm=' field. This contains only the payload
type supported. But it is not telling anything about the maximum frames per packet
or maximum duration of the voice packet. How is the negotiation done between two
endpoints?
Is the attribute parameter as defined in 'a=' will provide the encoding, bit rate,
and channel is used for it?
Is 'a=ptime:<packet time>' or 'a=frames:<frames/sec> can use? But what if the
remote end is not supporting this attributes, and sends Bad Request. How should be
the caller UAC behaves, while it gets a Bad Request for the attribute?

Thanking in advance, and waiting for a reply.

Regards,
Iraban
