Sending 481 means I don't recognize the dialog but, in the same time I send retransmissions for the same dialog. This looks strange doesn't it ?That's true.
But it is possible in case where your SIP Stack is taking care of re-transmissions and the Application has sent out a BYE and flushed its state machine, 'coz the app. is NOT bothered about any or no response to BYE. A 200 or anything else is just going to stop the BYE re-transmissions.
When the dialog is terminated ? When first BYE is sent or when BYE transaction is over ?When BYE transaction is over.
Ajit,Agreed.I think this is one of the many slightly gray areas in the spec. Because of this, probably a 200 or 481 would be appropriate.
