Subject: RFC3263 query

Hi,
In RFC3263 (Locating Sip Servers), Sec.4.2 (Determining Port and IP Address), the first sentence of the last paragraph states the following:

"If no SRV records were found, the client performs an A or AAAA record lookup of the domain name."

I have a doubt as to what this 'domain name' should be when the NAPTR query was successful but the subsequent SRV query (for the 'replacement string' of the NAPTR record) failed. Would the 'domain name' be:
(a) the host portion of the hostport component of the TARGET (as defined in RFC3263)?
                OR
(b) the domain name in the 'replacement string' of the NAPTR record?

I was not able to find clarity on this from the RFC.

Thanks
Ganesh
