Hi All,

I have been trying to understand the operation of SIPS in a
mixed TLS/IPsec environment for a while, but I am still having trouble.
Thanks in advance for clearing this up for me.
This may have been answered on the list already, so please point me
to the answer if that is so!

In reading section 19.1, it seems to me that SIPS is
mentioned as a way of securing all hops, but some proxies may use
IPsec as a permanent secure connection.
It seems to me that SIPS connection can be secured containing on a hop
with IPsec too, and is not necessary for the hop to be TLS.

Is my understanding right?

In reading section 19.1.1,
"For a SIPS URI, the transport parameter MUST indicate a reliable transport.".

Why does SIPS URI require a relaible transport?

Thanks,

Kumiko
