Subject: [Sip-implementors] Record-Route
and re-INVITE
Hi,
When we send out re-INVITE do we need to include the Route
headers with it? Does the Record-route header in the
re-INVITE change/modify the route-set? When we respond to the re-INVITE,
do we need to include the Record-route header in the 2xx
messsage?
[Nataraju A.B.]
The re-INVITE should carry the same route
header(Record-Route header in 2xx response) which was stored in the
dialog CB after receiving 2xx response. the route header in re-INVITE may be
different from INVITE request.
The route header in INVITE will be applicable only for
INVITE txn, for rest of the txns within dialog the route header decided by
record-route header in 2xx(INVITE) response. even tough route header in INVITE
request, the re-INVITE requst does not carry route header if 2xx(INVITE)
does not carry Record-route header.
Thanks & Regards, Meena
