Hello all, When trying to make a call between two user agents through a proxy the call fails with a 503 service unavailable message. Someone suggested that the problem was with my contact field in the Register request which looks something like this:
Contact: <sip:192.168.0.14:5060>;user=phone As you can see that it does not contain the the contact number \ name which might be causing the problem since the proxy might require the complete URI. After reading rfc 3261 and browsing through mail archives I understand that the contact header field is not mandatory in Register requests and is required in INVITE messages. I also confirmed that the contact field in the Invite message was complete. To verify this I also tested the user agents with the VOCAL server and I was successful in making a call with the same header fields as described above. So I just need to confirm that the problem is not with the contact header field in the Register request and is somewhere else. Comments?
