If the provisional response contains SDP, the gateway switches the (early)
media path (assumption is that media offer-answer exchange either through
INVITE/RPR or INVITE/Prov.Resp has happened) to play the announcement or
the remote RBT. Else the local RBT shall be applied.

[Sip-implementors] remote or local
ringback tone for SIP
02/18/04 01:49 PM
Hi All,
My question is: how SIP GW can determinate - weather to play local ringback
tone while getting
180/183 provision response or it's a remote ringback tone provided by
terminator in RTP stream ?
In H323 GW I analyzed progress Description of Alerting message (if set to 8
- remote ringback
tone).
What can be done for SIP protocol ?
thanks in advance
