If the intermediate nodes add their 'via' headers and if the response is
183 with 1st offer SDP body then will the response be more than the path
MTU or 1500 bytes so that how the problem is solved?

[Sip-implementors] If the SIP
message size is larger.

Hi,
If a SIP request size is larger than 1300 bytes or within 200 bytes of the
path MTU then one should send the message over TCP rather than UDP.In the
said scenario the 200 bytes serves as cushioning for the responses to be
generated by the recipient, assuming that the generated response would be
at most 200 bytes more.
So on the said scenario please clear my following doubts
1. Is it necessary that both ends use same transport(TCP) for the entire
transaction?
2.Is it necessary that the recipient of the SIP request send the response
over transport it received the request(i.e. TCP)?
3.If the intermediate nodes add their 'via' headers and if the response is
183 with 1st offer SDP body then will the response be more than the path
MTU or 1500 bytes so that how the problem is solved?
please clear my doubts stated above and if possible give me the references.
thanks and regards
Binod K Mohanty
