Hi Deepak, There are multiple approaches to implement conferencing in SIP. The most prominent one is the use of *FOCUS* based conferencing. You'll find these 2 drafts helpful to understand conferencing in SIP
draft-ietf-sipping-conferencing-models-01.txt (with flows for each approach) draft-ietf-sipping-conferencing-framework-05.txt I hope this helps. My 2 cents, Gaurav -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, January 11, 2006 5:15 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Sip-implementors] Network based mixing for conferencing In SIP the 3 party conferencing is done by mixing the rtp of the two calls on the endpoint anchoring the call. Are there mechanisms in SIP where the media mixing is done on the softswitch. This would require only one rtp coming to the SIP endpoint and the softswitch handling the rtp of the 3 parties in the conference. Any call flows/references in this regard would be helpful.
