Hello all,

I got a UA with both FXO and FXS ports. All the FXS ports register to a sip
proxy through a outbound proxy. In case of link failure in between outbound
proxy and SIP Proxy, outbound proxy locally registers all FXS lines locally.
Calls are routed locally in between lines registered to this outbound proxy and
rest of the calls will be dialed out through FXO lines.

My requirement is I need to know if my outbound proxy has connectivity to SIP
Proxy.
I know this sound stupid but to prove my concept currently i send arpings
(pings are blocked) to SIP Proxy from outbound proxy and check for response. If
i get response i continue to stay in regular mode. In case of failure i shift
to FXO fail over mode.

I looked on the web for possible ways of doing this but I did not had much
luck.
One way i am thinking is by using OPTIONS. Can a outbound proxy send OPTIONS
to SIP Proxy to see if its alive? Or is there any other better way of doing
this?

  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  -Sid
