Hi,
If you go by Standards then each sip entity in network either user
Agent or client or server maintains the timer. So it is implementation
dependent. So going by standards B2BUA should maintain a timer and if timer
if B2BUA expires before the User Agent B then it should sent CANCEL to
INVITE transaction and if timer of User Agent B expires first then it will
send time out.
Cheers,
Vivek

Subject: [Sip-implementors] REG: query related to sdp
Hi All,
I have a query related to timeout case from the sip client side .
User A and User B are registered to a sip server which is running a
back to back user agent.
User A calls User B , and user B does not answer the call i.e., it will
be ringing and ringing.. .Then here who should send the timeout(i.e.,
CANCEL request) the sip client (user B) or the sip server.
Please suggest me in this regard.
Thanks & Regards
