The SIP Forum and the IPv6 Forum just announced a new partnership, to promote interoperability and help the members and the industry to move forward with IPv6. For all of us working with SIP, this is an important message.
I think we should try to add some automated self tests for IPv6 to the SIPit test network in order to get more tests done, like we did and will continue to do with basic call handling and TLS. I've added some ideas to a blog entry on the SIPit26 host web site - where you can register fro SIPit26 in Stockholm if you haven't done it yet. http://sipit.edvina.se/2010/03/ipv6-hot-topic-for-sip/ Feedback is very welcome - we need all kinds of good and evil test scenarious. It is important that we build a solid application infrastructure that can handle both migration and connecting isolated islands of IPv6 and IPv6 networks. ...and yes, this is a sore issue in regards to Asterisk. Luckily we do have a lot of code from Marc Blanchet in his IPv6-version of Asterisk to test. What's the status for other Open Source implementations of SIP? /Olle ---- SIPit26 is organized by the SIP Forum and hosted by Edvina and TANDBERG in Stockholm, May 17-21 2010 Sponsored by Ingate, Intertex and .se http://sipit.edvina.se - See you there! _______________________________________________ Sip-implementors mailing list [email protected] https://lists.cs.columbia.edu/cucslists/listinfo/sip-implementors
