Hi all, I hope this question is on topic on this mailing list. We are implementing a SIP conferencing application using the 3rd party call control model in which the focus sets up the media sessions between other participants.
What SIP mechanism can be used to inform the focus that a participant has not received media from it's peer during the last interval? This would be the case e.g. if a participant leaves 'ungracefully'. We require some notification method to inform the focus of this event so that it can take corrective action. The RFC3265 subscribe-notify mechanism looks like it can be used for this purpose. Is there an existing event package that allows us to do so? Is this the correct approach? We did come across RFC4575 (Event Package for Conference State) which defines a <status> tag in 5.7.3. However non of the defined status match our requirement so it doesn't seem to be a good fit. Any feedback/suggestions are appreciated.
