Hi, an outbound proxy receives an initial request with RURI domain
"invalid-domain.net" (no explicit port neither ;transport param in the
RURI). The proxy then performs all the steps in RFC 3263 section 4.
Let's suppose the following two cases:

a) The domain "invalid-domain.net" doesn't exist.

b) The domain "invalid-domain.net" exists but has no NAPTR, SRV, A
neither AAAA record.

Which should be the response code of the proxy in a) and b) cases? I
don't expect 404 si a good choice as just the proxy responsible of the
target domain should reply it. So maybe 503 is better (always
503....). Any other suggestion? any specification defining it?

5xx should be used when the server is having a failure, not when the problem is
intrinsic to the request.

404 is actually a fairly good choice, as it means that there is no destination
for this
address.
