Alok,
It is true that
sip:5551212@domain:5060;rn=...;npdi
can be *parsed* as a uri-parameter (other-param). But it may not legally
be used as such unless it is registered with IANA as a sip uri
parameter. And it is not. (See
http://www.iana.org/assignments/sip-parameters). "npdi" is registered in
RFC 4694 as a tel uri parameter.
