well, there are several issues with respect to TCP code, including bad 
and slow TCP reading (1 octet at a time) - but this is another story...

We didn't had time to look at that yet and don't expect to have very 
soon unfortunately.
Your analysis, together with Ed Russel's seems quite complete. Can you 
debug it?
