If we were able to send the command the UI uses to delete that message,
it should work. The intent of the gateway is to emulate the UI but
assemble the IMAP/POP inbox by properly interpreting the xml file for
it.

But unless it does that deletion through primitives supplied by the VM
store (as opposed to just deleting the file), nothing will know to tell
the phone to turn off the annoying Red Light.
