This idea has come up before, and something like it is more or less the long term plan. There are a number of efforts under way in the IETF to extend IMAP in ways that make this IMAP-as-integrated-message-store much easier and more direct (such as a way to subscribe to notifications when something changes). Whether we'll end up waiting for those or doing something else before they are done is still TBD. The current scope of the VM-replacement effort is more limited - we just want to get off of the sipXvxml media framework for now but leave the storage backend and web UI as little changed as possible. One step at a time, but the software design is being done with these future steps in mind. _______________________________________________ sipx-dev mailing list [email protected] List Archive: http://list.sipfoundry.org/archive/sipx-dev Unsubscribe: http://list.sipfoundry.org/mailman/listinfo/sipx-dev
