I must admit that (Freeswitch now being part of sipX) it had never occurred to me that it wasn't already installed on the build machines. And as I noted, I had been getting whacked because sipX fails mysteriously if Freeswitch isn't installed, so I was hoping to protect other developers from this problem. But what is the semantics that we are shooting for? For all the other third-party libraries, ./configure is in charge of finding/verifying the library so that code that refers to it does so correctly. Or are we assuming that you *must* install Freeswitch using the sipx-freeswitch RPM?
