No I haven't tried to start it by itself. I just reformatted and am
reinstalling. Is it possible to restore a 3.10 config/voicemail configuration?
I'm assuming not.

has anyone tested the 3.10 > 4.0 upgrade procedure?

If 4.0 won't install I'll simply reinstall 3.10 from ISO and restore.
