Is the relay service running after you start up your system. Are you running on a multihomed host by any chance ? All I can think of is that the name resolution is returning multiple records and there is something else responding at the IP address and port where sipxbridge expects to find sipxrelay running. Can you please post /etc/sipxpbx/nattraversalrules.xml as well as /etc/sipxpbx/sipxbridge.xml ( remove all passwords from that file ) or mail me a snapshot.
