We should certainly incorporate this. 

I think we'd like to get similar companion/interworking plugins for
other user programs (I'm thinking Firefox extensions...).  Perhaps
what's needed is a top level 'addons' directory, under which there are
directories for the programs that the addon is for?

  addons/
         outlook/
         firefox/
          ...

?
