XX-4849 provides the support for per-user forward timer due to which
User call forwarding screen provides a field where the user can
specify how long his phone should ring before the call gets forwarded
to his voicemail box OR to the configured forwarding number. The
default value being 20 seconds.
The question is where does this field get the value 20 seconds from ?
Is this a default value assigned to this field OR is this value got
from the "Default serial fork expiration" (default value = 20 seconds)
If the "per-user forward time" is got from the "Default serial fork
expiration", then changing the Default serial fork expiration should
change the "per-user forward time" for users who have not configured
this field , or atleast for new users added. (This does not happen as
of now)
If it is not displaying the Default Serial Fork time there when not set,
it should be - because that's what the timeout will really be in that
case. Changing the system value _should_ cause the value displayed here
to change for any user who has not configured a personal value.
Filed an issue http://track.sipfoundry.org/browse/XX-6120 ("Per-user
timer for call forward" should get its default value from "Default
serial fork expiration")
Now how would the behavior be for a user who belongs to a huntgroup +
has per-user timeout configured? For example:
If a "huntgroup" is configured as "initially call" 220, "if no
response" call *221*, both having expiration=30 seconds (Only 'allow
callforwarding' checkbox is selected)
User 221 in the huntgroup has a per-user timeout = 5 seconds and "if no
response" forward to user 222 ring for 30 seconds.
When the Huntgroup extension is dialed --->user 220 rings for 30
seconds, upon no answer user 221 should ring for :
a. 5 seconds (per-user timeout) and forward to 224
b. 20 seconds (default serial fork) and forward to 224
c. 30 seconds (huntgroup expiration time for 221) and forward to 224
Current behavior: 221 rings for 20 seconds and forwards to 224
Expected behavior according to configuration should be : 221 rings for 5
seconds and forwards to 224. Do correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks,
Chaitra
