Hello all, I'm hoping maybe someone can shed some light on an authentication issue I'm having while using the SIP trunk in gateway mode on the remote end. From what I understand when the remote end is in "gateway" mode it authenticates based on the IP address rather than the username and password. I've taken out the username and password under my ITSP account settings in SipX but I receive the following error message in the SipXbridge log when attempting to make an outbound call. There's more attached but I think this is the most relevant part.
"2009-08-03T15:36:22.294000Z":49400:JAVA:DEBUG:sipxecs.brammodev.main:UDPMessageChannelThread:00000000:ItspAccountInfo:"incrementFailureCount : 1" "2009-08-03T15:36:22.294000Z":49401:JAVA:DEBUG:sipxecs.brammodev.main:UDPMessageChannelThread:00000000:SipListenerImpl:"SipListenerImpl: could not authenticate with server. method = INVITE" "2009-08-03T15:36:22.295000Z":49402:JAVA:DEBUG:sipxecs.brammodev.main:UDPMessageChannelThread:00000000:SipListenerImpl:"Cannot authenticate request -- tearing down call" If we switch back to "registration" mode on the remote end and I enter the username and password on the ITSP account screen I'm able to make and receive calls with no problems. We're only using SipX on this end. I'm not sure of the system on the remote side. I can get more info it needed. When in "gateway" mode on the remote side I am unable to receive calls as well. I get nothing in my logs though. Thanks, Josh McDonald | Systems Administrator | Brammo, Inc.
