Hi all,

I have two questions regarding XX-5820( Provide Ability to Copy Speed
Dials for Users).

1.I have created user group called "soumya". Included two users(ie
400,410) into that group.
2.Navigated to user group "soumya"and clicked on speed dial tab
3.Created speed dial entry as
                           Name Number Subscribe to
presence
                           N-320---->    320   ------->  Disabled
4. Clicked on *"Save and Update phone "*tab.(Attached Screen shot:
speeddial.jpeg)

Phones which were assigned with users 400 and 410 got rebooted. But added
speed dial entry did not come up on Phone's TUI.(400,410).

*Q1:*Should the phones have to be rebooted at this stage?
*Q2.* If phones rebooted after clicking *"Save and Update phone "
*should the speed dial entries has to come up on Phone's TUI or not?

5.Navigated to Users--->400-->Speed dial. No speed dial entries observed
in the page
Clicked on newly added "*user group speed dial* "button. After
this user 400 copied the speed dial entry as,
                            Name Number Subscribe to
presence
                           N-320---->    320   ------->  Disabled
Clicked on" *save and update phone"* tab from users---> speed
dial.(Attached screen shot:User page.jpeg)
Phone assigned with user 400 got rebooted and speed dial entry seen on
the Phone TUI.

Please suggest me on the above queries.

I am not able to reproduce this problem on my system (4.1.0-016053). Can you
please send me a snapshot.

Arjun
Hi Arjun,

I have attached snapshot as requested. I am providing the details of
IP address of the phones used.
       1. Registered phone with user 400: 176.25.2.161(IP)
        2. Registered phone with user 330:176.25.2.129(IP)

When "*Save and Update phone "* button is clicked from user
group(Users---->User Group(soumya)--->Speed dial) speed dial page, speed
dial entries are not displayed on the phone TUI .
Navigated to Users-->User---> speed dial page of user 400 and clicked on
"*User group speed dial*" button.Corresponding user group speed dial
entry got copied on to the page and then clicked on *"Save and Update
phone ",*speed dial entries displayed on Phone TUI.

Problem 1: Navigated to Users--->400-->Speed dial. No speed dial entries
observed

I don't see this problem. Speed dials seem to be synchronized between the users and the user
group. Now, there is one thing you have to remember. User settings always override group
settings. So, if you navigated to the User page --> Speeddial settings, and then clicked
on 'OK' or 'Apply' (without adding anything), then sipXconfig creates a user speeddial
setting containing 0 speed dials. Any group speed dials that are defined later will not
override these user settings, unless and until you go the User Speed Dial settings page and
delete these user settings, by clicking the "Use Group SpeedDial" button. Can you
confirm that this is indeed the case?
Currently if any speed dial entry is present for user at user level and suppose that user is added to group .In this case in order to copy speed dial entries from group it is necessary to click "Use Group Speed Dial" button on the user speed dial page. If no speed dial entries are present for user at user level and suppose that user is added to group. In this case speed dial entries from group level will automatically get copied on to user level speed dial page .

Having said that, I did notice a bug, where by we restart all user phones that
belong to a user group, regardless of whether the user is using the Group speed
dial settings, or not. I will raise an issue for thi
I have raised Jira for Speed Dial : Phone unnecessarily reboots upon configuring the speed dial entry at user group level.http://track.sipfoundry.org/browse/XX-6214
Thanks,
Soumya
